THE new Aqua Ninja obstacle course at WetSide Water Park in Pialba is ready for action.
The course will be open to the public from Saturday, 5 November 2022.

It features a series of nine different challenges that participants can tackle in a splash-filled arena – kitted out with an electronic timer and ‘scoreboard’.
While aqua ninjas are traversing the course, water jets, canons and dumpers are activated, adding to the excitement.
Participants can choose between three different difficulty levels which determine the strength of the sprayers and water jets.
Fraser Coast Division 5 Councillor Jade Wellings said the Aqua Ninja course was a great addition to the already popular WetSide Water Park.
Cr Wellings said the course was set-up in a way to encourage interaction between participants and spectators, as those waiting in line for their turn will be able to operate the water sprayers.

“The adventure playground will enhance the popularity of WetSide and expand the age range of people using the facility,” she said.
Facilities
“It fits in well with the other facilities near Seafront Oval – the Adventure Playground, the All Abilities Playground, and the skate park.”
Cr Wellings said the course was also aligned to Council’s strategy of creating an active and healthy community and would help attract more visitors to Hervey Bay.
Local lifeguard Lachlan Taylor encouraged locals and visitors to give the course a go.
“It’s a lot of fun and caters for children, teens and adults,” he said.

The Aqua Ninja course is the first of its kind to be installed in Australia.
It will operate on Saturdays and Sundays between 10am and 1pm for now.
Lifeguards needed
A current shortage of lifeguards means the Aqua Ninja course and paid waterslides cannot be operated simultaneously.
The waterslides will be open to the public from 1.30pm to 5pm until further notice.

Member for Hinkler Keith Pitt said the $1.3-million course – built by Playscape Creations – was funded by the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
“It will add a new dimension to recreation in the Bay which helps enhance the city’s liveability while boosting local jobs and supporting local businesses,” Mr Pitt said.
The Aqua Ninja course replaces the old WaveRider.
Tickets can be purchased from the WetSide kiosk.
A single attempt will cost $5 or it’s $12 for three.
Participants must be at least 8-years-old and 140cm to attempt the Aqua Ninja Course.
