Rock pools ideal for swimming
If you’re a Fraser Coast local or a holidaymaker and you’re looking for something to do that’s a little ‘off the beaten track’ – then call your friends, pack the car and head out towards Mt Walsh National Park for a day at the Utopia Falls rock pools. The Waterfall Creek section – commonly referred to as Utopia Falls – is just a 1.5hr drive from Hervey Bay and consists of several awesome rock pools / swimming holes.

No. Access to the park is free.
The hike from the car park to the rock pools is about 1.5km. It's relatively easy with no real steep climbs or descents but a comfy pair of shoes will do the trick. Lots of families with young children visit the pools for a swim. Just be mindful of the fact that rocks at the pools are extremely slippery when wet.
No. There are no ablutions at the car park area or at the rock pools. If you need to stop, one of the last public toilets is located in Aramara - when travelling from Hervey Bay / Maryborough. There are also no bins. While the area is a great place for a picnic, make sure you take all your rubbish home with you.
