Walking and fishing spot - Very Instagram friendly!
Built between 1913 and 1917, the Urangan Pier was originally more than 1.1km long and originally used as a cargo handling facility.
It was shortened to around 868m in 1985.
The iconic pier is now a Hervey Bay tourist attraction in its own right, providing breathtaking backgrounds for photos and a great vantage point to look back on the Urangan foreshore and Charlton Esplanade.
The pier is a popular fishing spot and people walking the length of the pier, if they’re lucky, can view a number of different seabirds, fish and other marine species in the water below.
