SEVERAL major events on the Fraser Coast this weekend are helping bring an influx of visitors to the region.
The Brisbane Roar take on a Wide Bay All-Stars team in Nikenbah, the Ultra 355 endurance triathlon will be staged in Hervey Bay and the Maryborough Open Gardens will showcase more than a dozen of the best gardens in the Heritage City.

The Brisbane Roar soccer match will be played at the Fraser Coast Sports Precinct on Saturday afternoon – kick-off is at 2.30pm.
Previous fixtures have attracted more than 3,000 spectators and give local football fans the chance to see some of the Australia’s best players live in action.
Brisbane Roar training sessions at the precinct will be open to the public on Wednesday and Thursday from 4.30pm and there will be opportunities to meet players for signatures and photos.

The Ultra 355 endurance triathlon – including a 5km swim, 300km bike ride and 50km run – takes place from 27-29 August.
There will be temporary road closures in place for the event – more details are available here.
The Fraser Coast is a popular triathlon location, with the National Schools Triathlon in September and the Hervey Bay 100 in November.
Meanwhile, 15 of the best gardens in Maryborough will open their gates on Saturday and Sunday for the Maryborough Open Gardens.
Town gardens will be on display on Saturday and country gardens will be available for viewing on Sunday – both days from 9am to 4pm.
Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said such events help boost the local economy, with many visitors booking accommodation, checking out tourist attractions and eating at local cafés and restaurants.
